Ubi. city is a dynamic governance protocol for decentralized organizations. The white paper can be found on the official website www.ubi.city.
With The DAO raising 11.7 million ETH (valued at approximately $245 million) in 2016, the concept of “decentralized self-governing organizations” first shocked the global blockchain industry and Wall Street.Although The DAO ended in failure, like DEX, it finally entered the initial application stage after several years of development.In the past year of 2020, governance tokens have been widely used by the DeFi protocols. The form of voting governance is very single, but it has also introduced human behavior into the chain as part of the contract. On the other hand, CirclesUBI has also successfully created on-chain contracts for 94,000 people in less than three months — blockchain technology has officially started expansion and transition from “asset on-chain” to “human behavior on-chain” , this transition may start the blockchain 3.0 stage.
In the process of forming decentralized self-governing organizations from “human behavior” on the chain, new problems are faced at the level of protocol design and technical solutions.Protocol design requires thinking: how to mark the identity of “human” on the chain?How to design a concise governance protocol that is suitable for multiple decentralized organizations? A technical solution needs to be studied: how to solve the problem of sybil attacks that are as important as the Byzantine generals?How to implement large-scale user contracts on ETH?
In the aspect of algorithm protocol design, UBI.city builds the upper layer of organization governance protocol layer based on CirclesUBI.
● First, UBI.city uses the CirclesUBI’s account system (the user’s CirclesUBI address. is the same as UBI.city address),and on the basis of CirclesUBI，a natural evolutionary system is constructed to form a corresponding relationship between “personal behavior value” and “personal tokens value”, so as to realize “human behavior” on the chain, and make human behaviors become one kind of on-chain assets.
● Second, UBI.city has designed an experimental Proof of Performance (POP) as a performance proof mechanism to achieve a “dynamic” organizational governance and incentive allocation system-the incentive mechanism is no longer fixed like the previous agreement. Instead of supporting organization managers to adjust the on-chain incentive rules of the circles (mediating the “trust ratio value” parameter in the figure below, you can mediate the rate of rewards for members in the same circle).
At the same time, UBI.city also supports organizations to issue their own original tokens to support organizations’ continuous evolution.In the same territory, UBI.city can carry the competition and differentiation of different organizations with different systems, just like a city in a country where there are companies with different systems of competition or mutual assistance relationship, the company ’ s development and regional development form a mutually reinforcing relationship.
● Finally, the development of decentralized organizations is inseparable from valuable organizational tasks. In the early stage, UBI. city will gradually introduce DeFi-related tasks to support the development of on-chain organizations generate benefits for the ecological system, which will also become the base source of UBI value.
At the technical solution level, UBI.city has designed for the sybil attack problem and the cross-chain problem of ETH1.0 and ETH2.0 large-scale user protocols.
● Sybil attacks: Just as the Byzantine generals problem needs to be solved when assets are on the chain, so human behavior on-chain need to solve the problem of sybil attacks-the problem of launching malicious attacks on the network through a large number of fake accounts. UBI.city puts “human behavior” on the chain to solve the sybil attacks. Since human behavior are limited by time cost and asset volume, and the cost of account forgery can be greatly increased.
● Leading to ETH2.0: UBI.city has proposed a targeted cross-chain solutions for large-scale user in engineering.
Putting “human behavior” on the chain may also bring additional imagination to DeFi:
DeFi can only be built based on asset collateral when here is only asset on-chain data and no human-related on-chain data. However, the truly effective financial mechanism is often based on “credit”, so when the “human behavior” starts on the chain, DeFi may reach a new stage-based on “personal credit” rather than“asset collateral”,just like “credit sesame points”, it has become an important entrance of personal-level financial services.
UBI.city has done more than half of the previous research , the contract will be officially released before April.More specific POP algorithm and technical solutions can be found in the White Paper. Since UBI.city’s dynamic governance mechanism and many designs are experimental and innovative, more community support will make it easier for UBI.city to improve as soon as possible. A total of 3,073,505 CITY tokens were allocated in the first round of UBI. CITY airdrop.
The airdrop went to 92,463 CirclesUBI users according to the data snapshot on CirclesUBI with a block height of 14180000（Jan-24–2021 01:50:30 AM +8 UTC）on xDAI.network. After we have handled nearly 2 million user’s behavior onchain data and calculated the number of CITY airdrops for each account, we will pass CITY airdrops to 92,463 CirclesUBI accounts through the UBI. city airdrop contract.The airdrop contract has been deployed. Users who have successfully created the CirclesUBI account before the snapshot time can immediately receive the CITY from the air drop contract to their personal account according to the following steps.

The airdropped CITY has been issued. If you have used CirclesUBI and created an on-chain personal contract before the snapshot time, you can check and receive the airdropped CITY according to the steps below.
Airdrop method and steps
[Step 1] Install MetaMask and create a wallet
Install the MetaMask browser plug-in (only Firefox or Chrome browsers are supported), if you have already installed it, you can skip this step:
● Download from the MetaMask official website and click the button in the picture below, and follow the instructions to complete the installation. The official download link:https://metamask.io/download.html
● After installation, click the “Start using” button on the MetaMask page and enter the page below, click the “Create Wallet” button to create a new empty MetaMask wallet:
After clicking the “Create” button, a new, empty MataMask account and wallet will be created.
[Step 2] Check the number of CITY airdrops you can receive
After creating the MetaMask wallet, go back to https://www.ubi.city and click on the “Connect to MetaMask” button at the top right:
Click the “Next” button in the MetaMask wallet page that pops up, and then click the “Connect” button:
After the connection is successful, you will see that the number of CITY in the current address is “0”, don’t worry! This is just the empty MetaMask wallet just now, not the wallet to receive the CITY airdrop. Now you need to import the CITY airdrop wallet. Open the mnemonic page of UBI.city as shown below (link: https://key .ubi.city/):
Enter the 24 mnemonics of your CirclesUBI account (since CITY is airdropped to the CirclesUBI address, if you forget the mnemonics of your CirclesUBI account, you will not be able to receive the CITY airdrop), and the 24 mnemonics have been entered correctly. Then, after clicking the “Convert to Private Key” button, the private key can be obtained in the right panel, and then click the “Copy Private Key” button to copy the private key, and follow the next steps to import the private key in MetaMask.
Click the small fox icon on the upper right of the browser to open the MetaMask panel, click the avatar button on the upper right of the panel, and then click “Import Account” in the pop-up window:
Select the type as “Private Key”, paste the copied private key into the text box, and click “Import” to complete the import of the wallet account:
After the import is successful, you need to bind the UBI.city account to the imported wallet account. The MetaMask wallet is indeed troublesome for Chinese users, so just stick to it and it will be almost done!
In the pop-up MetaMask, select the wallet account you just imported to connect:
After the connection is successful, you can see the number of CITY airdrops you can receive in the UBI.city page!
In order to receive CITY successfully, it can be displayed on the MetaMask center, you need to add CITY to the MetaMask display list in advance. Copy the CITY token contract address of UBI.city: 0xd002f53979dd9acb946a82ffe04d0e4383cf5f92 for pasting in the subsequent steps. Open MetaMask and click the “Add Token” button:
Select “Custom Tokens”, paste the CITY contract address, and click “Next Step”:
After confirming “Add Tokens”, go back to the MetaMask wallet page, and you can see that CITY is displayed (because the airdrop has not been successfully received, the CITY balance is 0 at this time).
[Step 3] Receive the CITY airdrop to your personal wallet
The CITY airdrop is issued through an airdrop contract. After receiving CITY from the airdrop contract to the personal wallet address, all the steps are completed.UBI.city uses the CirclesUBI ’ s account system (the user’s CirclesUBI address is the same as UBI.city wallet address) — that is, the wallet address that you imported to MetaMask in the “Step 2” above.
Click the button for the number of CITY in UBI.city, and click the “Receive” button in the pop-up window:
You will see the page shown in the figure below in the MetaMask wallet that pops up, prompting “ALERT: Insufficient balance”, which means that the account lacks gas fees and cannot receive the CITY. Click “Reject” to close the page:
Next, you need to add a little ETH to the account (the CirclesUBI wallet account of MetaMask that was imported in step 2 above) as a gas fee, usually 0.01 ETH (if ETH network congestion, the gas fee may increase). Re-click the small fox icon on the upper right of the browser navigation bar, open MetaMask, click the green box position in the figure below, and you can copy the wallet address of the previous guide-this is your CirclesUBI wallet address that receives gas fees (also your UBI.city wallet address).
After recharging the Gas, click on the extra CITY button on the UBI.city page. After confirming the receive button in the pop-up window, click the“Confirm” button in the pop-up MetaMask:
After clicking confirm, you can see the pop-up window in the figure below that prompts you to receive successfully! (According to the withdrawal request receipt in the figure, you can view the transfer result on the chain by yourself)
Wait about 3~5 minutes.Finally! You can see the successfully received CITY in MetaMask! At this point, you received successfully! If you want to get more CITY, you can participate in the early supporter project and early community builder project.
How the early supporters get their bonus？
